'What we see through the window' Myanmar series
(100% of sales go to Myanmar relief efforts. Click on paintings for prices. For information about purchasing paintings CLICK HERE)
Through 2020 and 2021 many Myanmar people - especially the elderly and the young - have been forced to stay inside their homes, due to the impact of COVID-19 and after the brutal military coup in February 2021. They have watched life, including protests and military crackdowns, through their windows. The paintings are interpretations of Myanmar people looking at scenes of sadness, fear and hope outside. The drawings are of the ubiquitous three fingered salute of resistance to the military coup. See the About page for an interview with Tamas about the series.
Unless identified as a well known Myanmar activist or sporting star, all names are pseudonyms. Thanks to the Myanmar and international photographers and organisations whose work inspired these pictures (click on paintings below for photo credits). Prices in Australian dollars.
